Brother Mfc J5845dw Fax Setup

 Hardware FAX connection:

  • Lift and open the Brother MFC J5845DW printer’s scanner cover.
  • Find the LINE port and plug a telephone line cord into it.
  • Ensure that you have closed the scanner cover of the Brother MFC J5845DW printer properly

Receive mode and station ID settings:

Tap the Settings icon, select the following options.

  • All Settings
  • Fax
  • Setup Receive
  • Receive Mode
  • After selecting the correct receive mode, press the Home button on the printer’s control panel for Brother MFC J5845DW fax setup.
  • Once done with selecting the receive mode, go to Settings  All Settings  Initial Setup  Station ID  Fax.
  • Type your fax number using the touchpad and press the OK button on the printer’s control panel.
  • Once you select the Name option, type your name and press the OK button.
  • Press the Home button to exit.

Fax Sending:

  • The original document is to be kept in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
  • You can also place the original document on the scanner glass of the Brother MFC J5845DW printer.
  • On the touch screen panel of the printer, tap the Fax option. Use the dial pad to type the fax number of the recipient manually.
  • Tap the Options option to specify the fax settings such as fax resolution, contrast, and glass scan size.
  • Tap the OK option followed by the Fax Start option.
  • If you have loaded the original document in the ADF, the Brother MFC J5845DW printer starts to scan and sends the scanned document to the recipient.
  • If you place the document on the scanner glass, you have to select either the Black or Color option and tap the Yes option for confirmation for Brother MFC J5845DW fax setup.
  • This will scan the first page of the document.
  • Now, the Brother MFC J5845DW printer LCD panel displays the Next Page? question.
  • If you tap the No option, the printer will send the scanned document to the recipient’s fax number.
  • If you tap the Yes option, keep the next page of the document on the scanner glass of the Brother MFC J5845DW printer, and touch the OK option.
  • Perform the previous step again to scan the additional page.
  • Once done with scanning the original document, the Brother MFC J5845DW printer setup sends the scanned document to the specified fax number.
